BITS 2018 – Alumni in Action!

BITS programs are just the beginning. Once the 9 weeks are up, that’s when the real work begins. Here’s what some of our 2018 alumni have been up to over the last month:

Paris Zheng and her business, FilmArtist, held their first-ever event titled Enter The Void. The Nov 30 event explored the intersection of art, technology, and design, fostering conversations around the power of these three disciplines to introduce new concepts, challenge old ideas and impact a variety of analog and digital media. You can check out a highlight video here.

On Dec 8, Black Owned Unity held the third installment of their Black Owned Market which features one of a kind products and services from black-owned businesses. BITS proudly boasted multiple alumni and community members which participated, including; Chanel Forbes of Synchronise, Tayanna Marcus of Unearthed Virtues, Annika Reid of Stylish Apparel, and BITS program coordinator, Jalisa Luces-Mendes of Toni Marlow.

Meanwhile, Brooke Dixon was preparing to host the first event under her new business, Creative Collab titled Mantras & Makeovers. The Dec 15 event was geared towards “experiencing a day of self-indulging activities and to gain valuable tools on how you can take action to make over yourself inside-and-out!” Attendees learned how to increase self-esteem, take care of yourself inside-and-out, manifest what you want, and beauty tips and tricks.

Congrats to everyone on keeping the momentum going, we can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store for you!
